CARSON

At the age of 7 Carson thought he had discovered his one passion, Baseball. Soon after this discovery he had it set in his mind he wanted to play Baseball for the USC Trojans in Los Angeles California, his room was soon transformed into a rainbow of Cardinal and Gold. He picked up on the game very quickly and soon found the position he was to excel at, Pitcher. Over the next 5 years until he was 12 he had the privilege to be selected to play on several AllStar and Select teams. Then comes the opening day of the 2017 season and Carson is selected as the starting pitcher and does not disappoint as he throws a one-hitter and is named as MVP. After receiving his award Carson walked off the field, looked at his dad and said, “I quit.” His dad was shocked to say the least and after a long discussion Carson stated he wanted to be a singer. With that announcement it was recommended he visit Rebecca Lam, a very talented vocal coach here in Vancouver for an honest opinion. After only a few minutes of listening to Carson she knew she wanted to work with him as he showed great promise and believability.

Soon after this first visit Carson was asked to join the adult Choir/A Cappella group YVR POP CHOIR in Vancouver. Soon after joining the group, Carson experienced his first ever live performance  with Distinguished Concerts International of New York City. Carson was chosen by Deke Sharon (Pitch Perfect & The Sing-Off) as a featured soloist for this sold out concert held in 2018 at the world renowned David Geffen Theater at Lincoln Center in New York City. Carson had an amazing experience singing for the first time live and on such an iconic stage, he could not wait for his next stage performance which consisted of multiple soloist spots with YVR Pop at several iconic locations in Vancouver and Whistler, BC. He loves the stage and the bigger the better. He is booked to perform another solo with Deke Sharon at what is arguably the most iconic theater in North America, Carnegie Hall in April 2022 (date TBD).

Carson’s musical influences come from a broad range of artists. Billy Joel and Elton John inspire his composing on the Piano to the diverse songwriting of Ryan Tedder (One Republic) to the quiet yet charismatic songs of Charlie Puth.

When he is not writing lyrics, playing piano or composing in the studio you can find him playing fetch with his dog Bruno, hanging with his friends throughout Vancouver or out on the soccer pitch where he excels as a goaltender.

“I think music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music”

– Billy Joel
